Why do the Toyota wheels look different than everyone else.
Is anyone else seeing a difference?

Just a different wheel supplier. Likely not a technical thing, the only things that really matter wheel-wise these days are width (for tires) and size (To fit brakes), which are usually adjusted on otherwise-off-the-shelf wheels that are already maximized by the supplier in both unsprung weight and lugnut design. If I had to guess, I'd say they requested that wheel to make the car look more futuristic and more in-line with what one pictures when they think of a hybrid race car.

Probably because it's the most adorable race car ever made!
It's just so fluffy and cuddly!
Okay I can't be the only one who thinks this.

I love how in that top picture they've stamped Dunlop over the Goodyear tyre.

They are aero wheels. Rays made them and are said to create less drag.

Most likely aerodynamics. The Prius wheel is similar in design. I see big trucks with flat wheel covers as well.
